January 24th - February 7th
Join us in promoting literacy, while raising funds for our school! Beginning on January 24th, ALL students who register, read, and log minutes are eligible for prize drawings to win books and other small rewards. Rewards can also be earned by classrooms.
This is the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year! We need your help to ensure we can continue to fund enrichment programs, assemblies, field trips, teacher classroom support and much, much more!
Let’s read and raise money for the school while doing it!
For our Read-A-Thon we use an awesome web-based fundraising system that makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It's fun, it's easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don't!
2 ways to register for the Read-A-Thon:
Option #1: Using your iPhone or Android? Register on the PledgeStar app!
App registration instructions:
Click the link above to download the PledgeStar app
Enter the event code “vdmpta” to locate the VdM Read-A-Thon
Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
Follow the instructions on-screen to register Reader(s) and add family and friends
Option #2: Register directly on the PledgeStar website

When you finish registering, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online. Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help.
Track those minutes!
Track your student's minutes using the PledgeStar app or on the PledgeStar website.
Enter the minutes your student reads. You may also enter any reading sessions that your student has at school—those count too! (Elementary School students can also count minutes they read with a parent.)
Please remember that we are on the honor system to accurately input student's minutes. Let's ensure fairness for all participants.
